The Planning and Development issues building permits for all structural improvements to buildings or properties within Watseka City limits. Most permits are isssued in 1 to 2 days. PERMITS MUST BE ACQUIRED BEFORE THE PROJECTS BEGINS. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD WARRANT A STOP WORK ORDER TO BE POSTED ON PROJECT. Complicated projects such as new construction require up to 3 to 4 days for review prior to permit issuance. Be aware if you are in the floodplain special building procudures are required.
